As part of a three-way consortium between HIVHUB in Iran, Health Services Academy (HSA) in Pakistan, and Progressive Development Initiative (PDI) in UK, we are implementing the Integrated Bio-Behavioral Surveillance’s (IBBS) Round 6 in Pakistan in 2023. The project’s aims are:
- Mapping and Size Estimation of four key populations (PWIDs, MSMs, TGs, FSWs) in 31 districts, representing national picture.
- Estimate prevalence of several infections (HIV, HBV, HCV, and syphilis) and sexual and risk behaviors among each of the key populations in addition to incarcerated persons in the country.
- Estimate the coverage of health services among each of the key populations and incarcerated persons across the country to identify service gaps that need to be addressed.
The project has been awarded by UNDP Pakistan on behalf of Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination National AIDS Control Programme.
This three-way consortium and UNAIDS brings together several local and international investigators with expertise in HIV epidemiology, key population research and population size estimation, and other health experts to produce the highest possible quality of evidence to guide Pakistan HIV response.
